Generator correction in firmware 502 on Quattro with gridcode selected

Pleas note that currently in the 502 firmware, the generator can be only selected on ACIN1 but not on ACIN2. Please add this fonction also on ACIN2 because on some ESS system with grid connected on ACIN1, the generator on ACIN2 is to be used in case of grid failure (backup fonction as presented in the ESS manual).

Agreed. I have always found it strange that there is conflicting information between their ess manual and training videos.


Could Victron please clarify which method is best practice????

Hi both, yes I can clarify.

And in all honesty we changed our opinion/advice on that recently.

The advice for the generator is to be on AC in 1. Also for ESS systems.

The in there mentioned last unsolved piece of the puzzle is making the genset start/stop in Venus OS also properly handle a generator connected to AC in 1. Which is whats currently being worked on and progressing nicely. Few more months max. Hopefully sooner.
