Inside the smartsolar is a MPPT with a relais function. I can switch the relais using the relais settings in the mppt using victron connect. It's not clear to me how to connect the relais because the relais contacts from the mppt cannot be connected from the outside. Do I need to open the smartsolar to get acces to the contacts?
What model are you talking about as my 250/70 has a terminal block at the bottom for the relay contacts.
Sorry, I was not clear. I'm refering to a smartsolar mppt inside an easysolar-II GX
The relay of the 250/70 is not connected to the outside of the easysolar-ii.

There is however a programmable (aux)relay (see manual) but I'm not sure if this behaves the same as the relay on the charger.

Opened up the easyolar, connected the relais on the 250/100. The relais controles a Shelly input switch.
The water heater is switched on/off through Shelly wifi/cloud using a Shelly relais when the battery is almost hits absorbsion.
