At 3am this morning while I was sleeping it jumped back to normal 120w???
So what else happened at 3am? I'm trying to narrow it down to something that can actually be investigated..
Hi John, thank you so much for taking the time and trouble to help me with this, below is when it happened and all i can see happening near the time is fridge & freezers turning on & off normal cooling cycle (AC) but apart from that nothing ?
So i am lost to what it could be? If there is anything else you need please let me know,
Thanks again John, Cheers Dave.
At 3am, that's a great example of the issue. Unless you're a nightowl fiddler(?) it looks like something totally random, and not reproducible until a 'cause' can be found. It gets tougher when most of us here aren't familiar with the RS kit either
I doubt it's in VRM, more likely at the GX end. If it happens again, check the GX figures against VRM's and try rebooting the GX to see if anything changes. Even disable the web to test.
It seems like some sort of data corruption thing, in the way it's handled. And that draws me back to the bluetooth thing. We've seen other unpredictable bt weirdness on threads here with a double network in play, and could be related somehow. You have a lot of Smart capability there, so keep an eye on that aspect and minimise it's use wherever you can. Disable where possible, even at the GX if you can spare your sensors for a short while for testing (a reboot too then).
But I guess we have to wait for the issue to recur. I wish we could help you more, but this is indeed a weird one. I'll stay interested and can elevate this issue for you, but we need more clues. That's still the challenge. Like it might even be just a bad cable or terminal that needs a wiggle..
I hope it doesn't recur, but if it does, have your testing plan ready.. :)
Hi John, thank you.
I have a plan in place to try and narrow it down should it happen again but i did get a Cerbo update last night so that may or may not help, either way i will be ready. This weekend i will also go through all my connections to ensure they are all set to the correct torque setting, everything is on busbar so not too many crimps to worry about.
Cheers Dave.
Maybe related. What thoughts.. https://community.victronenergy.com/questions/188363/multi-rs-solar-vrm-power-reporting-inaccurate.html
What is the picture showing? The AC output power, or what is it?
Hi Alexandra, thank for the reply, no just a SmartShunt.
I have put a fluke inline to check as it say 73w (currently reading over 700w in VRM), all i have on the DC side is a Switch, IP Cam on PoE and a DC to DC converter (Orion Tr 48/12v -9ah) so i can run the Cerbo GX on 12v (apart from all the Victron stuff above)
I know its a rubbish reading just cant work out what it jumped to 8 to 10 times what's real, and unfortunately i need it enabled due to the equipment above.
Cheers Dave.
You'll have to give more information. How is the system wired, what part of the system is giving these readings. Showing us the smartshunt and MPPT readings would help a lot.
But while we're trying to help, your dealer is primary support.
Thanks for the reply this is just with "Has DC" i guess an update was done to VRM as it happened @ 2am, nothing is wrong with any equipment i think there is a bug in how this is calculated but as i will be feeding in a DC charge source (Wind Turbine) i would like to use this (to get an idea of the power its producing) other wise i will just have to turn it off and try and find another way to incorporate the charge coming from the wind turbine into my Victron system.
Looks like it happened four times this is in the vrm
