I’ve just purchased the above charge controller, confused by the earthing connection on the heat sink.
Could somebody advise it’s correct use?
Normally Earthing relates to mains equipment not low voltage!

It is the same as battery case earthing. In case of a fault. So you as the user do not become the earth connection.
It is also regulation in some places to have that earthed.
But mppt earthing is not a simple subject. So really where it is being installed etc is also a consideration.
