Mulitplus II DC Current Recalibration

Hi there,

Is there anyway to recalibrate the DC current reading of the Multiplus II?

I have recently upgraded from a Multi 24/1600 to and Multi II 24/3000, previously when on battery power and there was no AC load the AC load would show as 0W but the newer Multi II shows a constant 17W despite nothing being plugged in to the AC. I know there is some consumption of power by the Multis, and this is reflected in the DC loads as there is about -20/24W drawn from the battery, for both the Multi and Multi II (individually tested) when all other DC loads are off other than the Cerbo, this drops to 3/5W when the Multis are switched off which is about right for the Cerbo.

What is interesting is the DC current calculated by the Multi II is out by about 0.6A when compared to the systems shunt and that 0.6A at 27.8v (at time of writing) is about 16.7W... This is also reflected when the Multi is charging, even when charging at +60A there is a difference of about 0.6/0.7A. The AC watts in to the Multis doesn't match the DC watts in the battery but I'd never ever expect it to due to losses in the conversion.

I work in Power Electronics and when there are mismatches like this, often a transducers calibration can be tuned by adjusted a trimmer pot, can anything like this be done for the Multi? I'd really like this new Multi II to show 0W of AC power out when there is nothing being drawn from it, like my last two multis had showed.

Does anyone else experience this phantom AC loads when on battler power? And does anyone know how to get the system to show 0W AC when there is nothing attached?

Thanks

@Cwoody

The DC loads have no measurement system. The voltage is read/measured. But current is not.

If you want accurate battery measurements one of the BMVs would work for you.

Hi @Alexandra that's what I thought from a quick google. I do already have a Victron Smart Shunt in the system and I guess its that accuracy is what's causing my frustration with the 17W showing when nothing is plug in.
