This is a marine application with a Cerbo GX connecting several networks
REC Q-BMS Victron on the BMS-Can at 500 kbs
Two WS500's on the VE-Can at 250 kbs
Two Quatros on the VE-Bus
The VE-Can is also connected to the ships N2K network via "VE.Can to NMEA2000 cable"
This setup works awesome with one exception; the WS500s don't see the BMS. However, everything else does! The Quatros, everything on the N2K network and I can alarm anything I want from the BMS on the central Maretron system.
If I switch the BMS to the VE-Can (@250 kbs) and the WS500's work great. But I have to disconnect the Cerbo from the N2K network and lose all the central monitoring and alarm function. The REC BMS has a terminating resistor built into it. The N2K back bone already has terminating resistors at the ends of it.
I would prefer to keep the BMS on the BMS-Can. Does the Cerbo not translate everything from one bus to the other?
My second choice would be to defeat the resistor in the REC BMS somehow. But I want to make sure I don't have another option.
