Can i use a Multiplus II with no GX module

What i can understand i can configure all basic settings to make it work in a MultiplusII thru a MK3 cable connected to a PC. Using Victron Connect and VE configuration tool softwares. Can you confirm that before i order a MultiplusII. No assistents will be able to run that i undrestand.

Yes, you can configure basic AND advanced settings with VE.Configure and Victron Connect. You can also install and configure Assistants with VE.Configure, except for the ESS Assistant. Only the ESS Assistant requires a GX Device.
