Cerbo digital and analogue input names

The names for the digital inputs are all pre-defined but there is no option for , for example, 'Other'. Could this be added as there is a high probability that an input will be used for something that is not defined in the list - I can think of lots of possibilities.

Also, in the Modbus TCP register list, register 3424 Type the generator type 9 is missing.

Try the following:

  • Choose input type: Settings > IO > Digital Inputs:
    • Choose type to select best match state options
      • Generator = Running/Stopped
      • Pump = On/Off
      • Door = Open/Closed
      • Alarm = Alarm/OK
  • Name the Input: Device List > Select Digital Input Device > Device > Name > Custom Name

  • Same applies to Analogue inputs.

  • Shows like this on the VRM Dashboard.

This is all very great, unfortunately in VRM alarms those names are not getting processed.

Just the alarm history page shows the custom name, even not in a very clear way.

In the alarm header and in the email of VRM there are just the generic descriptions.

Not very handy in case of a bilge alarm or burgler alarm, you / customer first have to login to VRM and go to alarm history to understand whats going on. (or yes, directly to Cerbo Remote-Console)

Kind of the same with relays. They can't be named at all, so no help for customer what relays is for what:

Ok, great, that works for renaming and giving a sensible name.

It's not reflected in the modbus data though. I selected Bilge pump (returns 3 in register 3424) and renamed my input to Fan. The modbus still returns a 3 as the Cerbo thinks it is still a pump type even though it's renamed.

I realise this is what is expected but I think if you can customise a name then you should be able to change its type number as well (for a custom one) as if you are using modbus then there is no way to determine the fan is not a pump.

Also, for whoever maintains the modbus register list, don't forget type 9 (generator) is missing.
