ESS Assistants Correct Choice

Struggling to get my head around the ESS set up and the appropriate assistants.

Watching the ESS training video the assistants section isn't quite fully explained.

I'm wondering which ESS mode is right. I've looked at the different types and then when i've uploaded an assistant to the Multi2 i get DDC errors with the exception of ESS as shown.

My aim is, as mentioned in the training video, connect to the grid but only at certain times or when the demand from the AC loads require a grid supply.

The screen shots are below of what i've done.

Any help would be appreciated.

The info in your screen shots is not the full ESS configuration. After the assistant is uploaded and running on the system, I get into the remaining configuration steps with Remote Console->Setting->ESS.

Once there, you can set the Grid Setpoint to zero, meaning that you want the ESS to try and keep the amount of power drawn from the grid at zero watts. You might not need any other "mode", but if you want more control, I think Mode 2 would be all you'd need.

From the screenshot it seems like i'm pulling from the grid. I've set the grid setpoint to 0.

@DaryllChaplin This screenshot shows the Multiplus settings, not the ESS settings. The ESS settings are farther down and out of sight on the initial Settings menu selection screen. But what I see in the screen shot is 0.7 amps being withdrawn from the DC side, presumably from a battery.

From the first Settings menu, ESS is five lines below Remote Console.

Scrolling down a little in the ESS settings, you should see something like this:

Setting the Grid setpoint on this menu to zero tells the system to try and not take power from the grid.
