Can I fit the smart shunt part to a 1000A Victron shunt, and change a few settings and it will work?
Or is it a dedicated pairing to the 500A shunt?

As far as I know there is no way to remove the electronics of the SmartShunt or at last it is not designed to do so.
But there is also a 1000A and 2000A SmartShunt available.
Thank you, Matthias,
Although I would have thought it would just be a standard unit with a soft parameter change through an app like with the BMV.
But you are right I can see no mention of alternative shunts in the smartshunt manual.
