Hey all,
I could really use some help as I can’t seem to find a straight forward answer on the internet. I can give details if needed but to try to keep it simple here are the basics.
- RV has 50a service and is 12v. I’d like to run all loads on batteries to avoid running the generator when possible.
- Prewired solar wire pair from roof to basement....looks to be 8awg
- 4s3p brings the solar numbers to 59v , 36a, and 2120w coming down from the solar.
- 4x 200ah Ampertime batteries.
Question is: Do I stay with 12v or go to 24v with 24v to 12v converters for the 12v loads.
- The system I have now does not charge the batteries quick enough to be useful. It’s a 12v Renogy system. I’m taking it out to upgrade to Victron.
- I’ve already purchased many Victron components before solidifying a system. I will have to return or resell some items after the system is solidified.
- I have a 12/3000/120 Multiplus and a 24/3000/120 Multiplus in hand. I can purchase an additional 24/3000/120 Multiplus for cheap if a split system stacked inverter/charger with autotransformer is recommended.
- I have a 150/70-TR MPPT, Lynx Power In, ArgoFet battery isolator, 24/12-70a Orion Dc-Dc non isolated converter, smart shunt, smart battery protect, 2x battery balancers.
2nd question: If I stay with 12v should I go with the Multiplus II 2x 120v? If I go with 24v should I purchase the additional 24/3000/120 and autotransformer for split phase?
Thank you for your help. -Jaime in Cali
