Lynx BMS and Digital Multi Control compatibility

Hi!

I could not find in the documentation. Anyone please clarify these questions

1.) With Lynx BMS, the DMC is directly connected to the Multi, as opposed to the VE.BUS BMS, right?

2.) The DMC will work with a Lynx BMS in the system?

3.) If the requirement is to enable / disable the charger without the actual switch in the Multi, is the DMC is still required? Or does the GX device has full functionality for selecting current and switching between 'charger only / on' modes if there is no VE.BUS BMS in the system? Was the limitation only with the VE.BUS BMS?

thanks

Eliott

1- You can connect it to either the MultiPlus or the Venus device.

2- Yes it will work, but it will prevent you from being able to control the MultiPlus via the Venus device (or remotely via remote console).

3- No you don't need a DMC to control the MultiPlus if you have a Lynx SmartBMS, that limitation is only if a VE.Bus BMS is used - with a Lynx SmartBMS you can still control the MultiPlus via the Venus device (or remotely via remote console)

Hi @eliott,

which of the Lynx BMS are you referring to, Lynx Smart BMS or Lynx Ion BMS? And which of the GX devices?

If there is a Cerbo GX: you can connect a DMC to the MultiPlus, but then you won't be able to switch MultiPlus states (On, Off, Inverter Only, Charger Only) from the Cerbo GX user interface. Same for Input Current Limit. So it's either the one or the other. I run a system with Cerbo GX, Lynx Smart BMS and MultiPlus and have full control.

The limitation for switching states of the MultiPlus is only for the VE.Bus BMS.
