24 volt Skoolie solar system setup

Hello Solar friends

I am building out a skoolie and with 1720 watts Solar on the roof I want to go with a 24 volt system.

I have 2 12 volt 300ah lifePo4 batteries which I will connect in series to make 24v.

What would be the best setup with Victron products?

Which Multiplus and what charge controller would you use? And what other system requirements do I need to install?

Thank you all so much!!!!

We need more details really.
What Voltage is your PV array set up? This will help to determine which charge controller you need.

What loads are you intending to run? This will help to advise what sort of MultiPlus to use.

Thanks for the Quick response!
So my panels are 430 watt (I have 4 panels)

VMPP is 41.70 (V)
IMP 10.31 (A)

I have a 110v Fridge and a 230 volt minisplit AC unit (I realize I cant run this for a whole day on just the batteries)
I also have 12 volt led lights, tv and phone chargers etc. (which I will get a dc-dc converter for)

You'll need a 150/70 charge controller. This will cover you PV array pretty well, but there will be no headroom for adding more PV in the future - just something to think about.
You would need to set your PV array up in 2S2P configuration.

For the MultiPlus there is a MultiPlus II 2x120V. However, this will only output 240V when connected to 50A shore line. Otherwise is gives 2x 120V outputs on the same phase in inverter mode or with 30A shoreline.

If you want 240V for boon-docking then you would need a 240V MultiPlus with an Autotransformer to make two split phase 120V legs. Not sure how many kW your air conditioner is, but of the 240V models, there are a range of power outputs available to choose from.

Another option would be two 120V MultiPlus' configured as split phase.

Thanks for the info.

Yes my Minisplit is a 12.000 BTU 230v unitt.
So I am thinking of getting the Victron MultiPlus 2 24/3000/70-32 230v with a 150/85 smart controller and the Victron Autotransformer 120/240v 100 amp.

Should I need a auto transfer switch for when I hook up to 30amp or 15amp shorepower?

And is there any wiring diagram for this kind of system? (to make install easier)

Probably better off with two 120V MultiPlus in split phase.

The single 240V MultiPlus would not charge from 15A or 30A single leg supply, it would not pass through either. It would only charge and pass through from a 50A supply.

With two 120V MultiPlus you can have 240V and also be able to charge from either 15A/30A or from 50A.

how about a 120 v Multiplus with an auto transformer?

Ok thanks for the info.

I’m still debating which victron I should get.

I changed my Minisplit into a 115 volt model.

So with only 12 volt stuff (none 24 volt) but with 41 volt solar panels (1720 watt total) and a 50 amp rv service hookup. Should I be better off with a Multiplus 2 2x120 or multiplus 2 24/3000..??

Thanks
