Any ideals on how to get past this?

I am sorry to say this, but I suspect that the unit is broken. The smartshunt internally consists of a battery monitor and a bluetooth interface part. The fact that it only shows the bluetooth interface is an indication that the bluetooth interface cannot communicate with the battery monitor part.

You could try to power cycle the Smartshunt by disconnecting the small red wire that is coming from the battery + for a minute (or unscrew the fuse holder in the small red wire) as a last attempt.

When this does not work, please contact the seller to apply for warranty.
