MPPT RS 450/100 connect via VE.can to Venus GX

Hello,


i've 3 MPPT RS 450/100 connected via VE.Can to Venus GX.
At the end of the VE.Can bus are resistors connected.
I used normal UTP Network cabel cat.6. Max. Length of the cable is 3 meters.

Firmware MPPT 1.05
Venus 2.73

Remote Console
Settings/Services/VE.Can i cannot see any devices.

It seems the VE.Can is disabled ....

With the VictronConnect App connected via Bluetooth to the MPPTRS i found
no settings about VE.Can.

I hope everybody has an idea.

Today some tests:

- new cables, same problem

- only 1st mppt rs connected => all is fine, it shows it in VE.Can/Devices

- only the 2nd mppt rs connected => also ok

- only the 3rd mppt rs connected => also ok

- only 1st and 2nd mppt rs connected => on is ok, second only as number "-- [414113]"

- all connected => all shown only as number.

- venus reboot => devices list is empty again, no mppt rs found.

Additional Info:

I have now connected on MPPT RS an i got this error:

I found no newer firmware than 1.05

Hi @smueff1970 , looks like you've been quite unlucky with your MPPT RS - seeing several issues.

The firmware incompatibly issue is resolved - in another thread - am I right?

Then the Error 201 is still open in another thread - here. Lets keep that discussion there.


And then the item in this post, VE.Can connectivity issues. Before I look into that: was this solved in the mean time, or still open?

Thanks for your answer.

The firmware incompatibilty is solved with a new update, yes in another thread.

The error 201 still exists also in another thread. It would be glad to fix them.

VE.Can connectivity issue is solved by replacing the MPPT RS450 with an new one. I think it would the best send the device for repair to victron.

Hi Tomas, yes indeed we would like to have that for analysis. What is its serial number? And do you still have it? Or was it RMA-d already and returned to a dealer?

I doubt this is related to your issues (apologies), but are you using fine stranded PV wire into your MPPT that is comprised of strands no larger than .016" diameter? If you are, can you share what kind of PV wire you're using and where you got it?
