i had my smart shunt paired to a phone i upgraded my phone and now i cant pair the new one i think from what i have read i should have unpaired the old phone before i upgraded anyway to reset the shunt so i can pair my new phone

Many devices can be paired to the shunt but cannot all connect at the same time. So there is another issue afoot.
Check out the troubleshooting on connecting to the shunt. Includes how to rest the pin.

I had disabled my bluetooth to the smart shunt. When I tried to reconnect it I got a single flash on the unit but it failed to connect. By connecting a spare bluetooth dongle to the unit I then could connect to it and re enable bluetooth. Now after removing the dongle I can connect to the shunt no ploblem. Hope this helps!
