Can I use both VE.can on CCGX or need a CerboGX?

There is a CCGX with 3x Blue Solar 150/85 mppts connected via VE.can with a terminator in the other port.

Need has arisen to connect lithium batteries which require can coms to control charging. Dilemma is whether can connect the BMS cable to the other Ve.can port occupied by the terminator or need to upgrade to CerboGX and use the other Ve.can port with terminator for BMS and the other port with terminator for Blue Solar?

Hi @Kalito

There may be an issue with baud rate. I spotted this recently where this is discussed for FreedomWon batts.. https://www.victronenergy.com/live/battery_compatibility:freedomwon

You don't say what yours are, but this might be a make-or-break thing. There are similar articles for some other batts, which may mention it.. https://www.victronenergy.com/live/battery_compatibility:start

Aaah yes! You have just answered my silent question on why there are two ports. Its actually the same port with other meant for a terminator! Then the baud rate issue. Blue Solar will most definetly want 250 and the lithium battery 500. So its a no contest - CerboGX it is! I also read somewhere on why the CCGX is not recommended where two VE.CAN devices are required. If the BlueSolar 150/85 had VE direct it wouldn't be an issue. Thanks alot.
