Power for cerbo gx from VE.Bus BMS

Does anyone know why Victron says to connect the V+ from the Cerbo Gx to the 'load disconnect' of the VE Bus BMS (it says this on page 2 of the cerbo gx manual). What is the reasoning behind this, and what would happen if it was powered elsewhere?

Thanks!

My guess is that the load side would disconnect only on low battery voltage when you’d want to remove all loads from the system, even the few watts drawn by Cerbo, to avoid battery damage.

If you are powering it from the Lithium bank, it would mean that when the lithium battery is low, or load disconnect has been signalled the Cerbo will not continue to drain the battery. At say 2.5 to 5w, it could consume something like 5A at 12v. So over a week would need 35A. That would drain any reserves in the battery.

Good answer, but to to clarify - 2.5W = 0.2A = 5AH / day (@ 12V).
