BYD Ladezyklen

Hallo,

Hello,
I run a small battery storage BYD B-Box 5.0 with Multigrid, CCGX and Gavazzi 3 ~ current sensor. The system works in ESS mode and is charged on the AC side by a 1KW MCHP and a 1.02kWp PV. Everything works satisfactorily therefore I would like to optimize a little now.
First, I would like to know what data is provided by the BYD BMU? Although I can see the current depth of unloading on the CCGX and the VRM portal, there is neither a load cycle counter nor does the remaining run display work.

regards

Did you look into the remote console? there might be things to be found if you look into the batteries menu?

Hello Alikante,

We don´t count or provide cycles as we measure the life of the battery as energy throughput. We have an internal Ah counter for warranty purposes in each BMS but this is not reported as the VRM already report the energy on the AC side.

What do you need this counter for?

Hi,

@Boekel thanks for your answer. Unfortunately only this is shown by Remote/CCGX

@BYD_service dont realy need the cycle counter, it was only nice to have :-) .But without any counter, how can I calculate the efficiency of charging and discharging? And why is the
Remaining time empty ?

You can check the energy throughput by downloading the detailed data report from VRM.

Regarding the ´time to go´ function, I´ve never seen it in use but for sure it is not provided by the CANBUS so you will not get any information there.

ok next question,

the firmware my MultiGrid 48/3000/35-50 is 2690413.

I want to load the Assist for AC-current sensor an for ON/Off Relais for Generator.

So i start the VE.Configure tool and this tool says there is an newer ESS Assist but i cant load this because firmware is to old.
Does the new ESS Assistant have any advantages? And where do I get the necessary firmware?

Hi,

thanks for the link. How the update works is now clear, but where do I get the file ?
There´s no "specialist" near my location, I can only ask my dealer. Is it worth the effort, works the update and the assistant better with my BYD batteries?

regards

many thanks @Boekel

the Multigrid now have the latest Firmware and ESS Assistant.

In addition, I have installed the assistant for generator start/stop and AC sensor

Because the Generator is a micro chp ( 1KW on Victron AC1 out ) i turn it off only at SOC over 90% and under 50% again on.

Now i have 3 new questions :

The newly installed AC sensor report 83 watts without power at the wire . Is this a bug ?

And is there a way to switch the icon from PV-Inverter to Generator at the CCGX ?

I have also switch on the "have DC-System" ( have DC-DC for Server, Switch and so on ) at CCGX but there is no icon, why ?

regards
