100/20 charge controller at 48V

Hello, is it right that the 100/20 charge control only outputs 1A when using a 48V system?

I dont really see the point in a 1A output! Its also kind of mis-leading as its rated at 20A.

Please confirm.

Thanks

Hi @James Morrison

The 1A is the output of the LOAD terminals, not the charge terminals. Very few people have 48V direct loads, it's mostly to feed an inverter, and they're not recommended on the Load terminals anyway. But that 1A can be used to throw a relay to protect the batts from overdischarge. A feature rather than a failing, all of the larger 48V units have no Load terminals at all..
