I have an existing setup in the sailing boat with Blue Sea automatic charging relay to separate house battery and cranking battery (lead). I'm going to replace house battery with a lifepo4 battery and purchased the dc/dc charger for keeping the voltage and the amps in check. Can I connect dc/dc charger directly to the cable coming from the relay instead of wiring it through the cranking battery as described in the manual and if there is benefits or downsides for that? I was mainly thinking of isolating the charger from the alternator during the starting the engine.
