BMV and Mppt settings

Current settings shows the battery goes to 100% before the voltages are any way near what they should be.

Boat Electric powered narrowboat

System
2x 48v victron agm super cycle battery banks. I have 1.3 kw of solar through 150/35 mppt controller

Proposed changes
Charged BMV 57.2
Absorption charge on mppt 58.4
Float charge on mppt 55.2

Current
Charged voltage BMV 55
Absorption charge on mppt 58.8
Float charge on mppt 55.2

Are the proposed settings correct if not looking for advice. Thanks in anticipation

Hi @ajfeather

It's very difficult to suggest anything without knowing more of your real issue. You say the SOC "goes to 100%" prematurely. Does it synchronize early, ie. with a clear jump to 100%? Or does it climb to it gradually, but too quickly?

If the latter, it may mean that the Charge Efficiency is set too high. If the former it will involve the Tail Current as well, not just V.

I've a hunch that your proposed changes are a step backwards, but there's not enough info to be sure. Maybe post a screenshot(s) of the BMV settings and try to define the issue a little more thoroughly.

The mppt settings should be made to suit the battery recommendations and conditions, not to experiment with the BMV.
