I have 2 batteries in parallel. I have a victron battery monitor to measure the charge/discharge rate, Voltage, etc. I just added a victron solar charger to the system and wired it up as shown below.
With this setup, when monitoring the battery monitor, it is showing negative current going into the battery when the solar is connected (no loads on the battery). I assume this is because I dont have the negative lead from the solar controller going thru the shunt (its bypassing it). So I assume I need to wire it as shown below.
My 2nd question is, does it matter if I leave the positive wire on the battery to the left as shown in the above image, or do I need to move it to the battery on the right. I'd prefer to leave it as shown above since I am out of room on the battery terminal on the right battery. My thought is that all the red cables are essentially the same point of contact so it doesnt make a difference, but I wanted to check.
