E1 error Smart BatteryProtect 220

Hello all,

I have a Smart BatteryProtect 220. When I activate the Smart BatteryProtect without any load on the output, I get the error E1 (short circuit).

Only with a load on the output I can activate the Smart BatteryProtect.

Is this a normal behavior? It is definitely not a short circuit, only an open output.

Thank you very much.

Best regards
Felix

@felix.steinbeis

Maybe some more information about your system would help.

The distance from the battery what size cable battery etc.

I had read a while ago somewhere on the community that the distance from the battery and undersized cabling can cause this issue.

Hi Alexandra,

Attachted there is an image from my system.

The SBP220 is connected to the lithium battery about a 150A MRBF fuse within a distance of 20 cm with a 35 qmm cable from IN (battery +) to OUT (load).

The SBP65 is connected to the lithium battery about a 30A MRBF fuse also within a distance of 20 cm with a 35 qmm cable from IN (charger) to OUT (battery +).

When no cable is connected to the SBP220 OUT I get an error E1.

Thanks.

Felix
