Solar Charger [256] - Error code: #2 - Battery voltage too high ,not charging.

I have received this message after installing 2, 12volt @ 120Ah lithium batteries in series with a shunt and a battery monitor, whilst the generator will charge them, the panels won't. They are hooked up to an Easysolar 24/3000/70 and charged the lead acid beforehand. Any ideas anyone?

All fixed, disconnected panels then batteries,wait 3 minutes then turn batteries on followed by the panels.
