Can i simplify my installation by getting the Smart Network to cut out the MPPT charger when the battery senses over-voltage?
Hi Steve,
the battery voltage is only part of the issue.
Its normally one cell that goes out of balance and if that one cells voltage rises too high then you can damage that cell.
when you are using the smart network connection you are reading the whole battery voltage in TOTAL not each cell.
So in part if all the cells went high then yes this would work and that would then be a charging fault. however in reality its usually a cell imbalance that sends one cells voltage high.
Hope thats of some help
