is it possible to place a multimplus compact not vertivally wall mounted
but lay it blat on the ground?

You can mount the units any way you want. the recommended way is as per the instructions and thats vertical as this gives the best convection air flow for cooling, if you mount it any other way then you may have to add a extra cooling fan to get more air flow through the unit
