How to connect VE.Can MPPT and BYD battery with Color control GX

Hi Guy, Just watched your training video on BYD Premium 15.4. I'm just in the process of installing that battery with a Multiplus 5kw, MPPT 250/100 VE Can and a colour GX, I just wanted to double check whether I need a VE direct cable between the GX and the MPPT( I thought I read somewhere the 2nd VE can connection in the GX was only operational with a firmware upgrade???..I may be wrong here) Cheers Jon

Hi Jon,

You will need a VE.Direct cable between the CCGX and the MPPT.

The CCGX does not have a second CAN interface, only the Cerbo GX and the Venus GX have that.

So the single CAN interface (two ports) that is on the CCGX will need to be used to connect the BMS-Can battery.
