VE.Direct Smart has both red & blue LEDs flashing slow

The LED status codes in the manual do not mention both blue & red LEDs blinking slowly, not alternating. I plugged the VE.Direct bluetooth dongle into a MPPT 75/15 solar charger and both LED blink. I can see the unit in the VictronConnect app and the first time it connected a firmware update was done. I can connect to the BT dongle and then both LEDs stop flashing and both are on. I see the device page in the app with PinCode change link, Firmware version 2.23 and bootloader v1.10 and I can do nothing else in the app at this point. Does anyone know what may be going on with the device? The manual does not mention this state so I have no idea.

Hi ! This is a know behaviour... I remember to have spent 4h fighting this thing, but did not documented how I fixed it.

You should try shutting off everything and disconnecting the power cable, then reconnecting it, AND maintaining the CLR button on the VE Smart. I think I did proceed this way.

Thank you michelg...I looked at the document link you provided, and the dongle did not behave at all like the document described...so I took everything apart, looked at the pins where the dongle connects on the charge controller, and one of the pins was pushed in and bent. I got the pin pulled out and straightened and then it worked perfectly. So I guess if the LED misbehave, its a good idea to check the connectors.
