short on MPPT 75/10 pv input?

i have a MPPT 75/10.

it has a short across the terminals pv inpts.

is this a sign of over voltage?

the max voltage i have exposed it to is 30 v as far as i know.

Its probably a sign that it's broken anyway, you don't need to do something wrong like overvolt for thing to break sadly.
