Hi there.
I currently have 4 x 100 watt Renogy panels in parallel and am charing with a 40 amp Renogy PWM controller.
Battery bank is 4 x 100 amp flooded lead acid in parallel for a 12v system.
Due to shading on the roof of my semi permanently parked fifth wheel camper, I would like to add a second solar array.
In attempt to maximize the use of roof space, I want to add 2 x 200 watt 24V panels in parallel. I want to experiment with the 100/20 MPPT charge controller. However, I see in the white paper that the charging current is limited to 20 amps.
Does that assume a 24v battery bank and it will double that output for a 12V battery? It's not clear in the literature.
For simplicity's sake, 4 x 12V 100 watt panels yields an ideal total of 33.3 amps.
Two 200 watt 24 volt panels yield half that or, 16.6 amps.
If the output current is limited to 20 amps regardless of the battery voltage, then I don't see the 100/20 as being a good solution for me.
Thanks.
