You have to connect the grid cable to the AC in input on the unit.

no it does not come with a MPPT so it Will not charge from photovoltaic panel directly.

If you Will never want to charge from grid you better consider a Phoenix inverter24/500 and charge your batteries from an mppt, if you occasionally want to charge from the grid there are option on the Multiplus to condition connect to the grid or not based on some parameter, but you have to give us more info on waht you want to achieve. (download the Victron Connect app and search for the correspond invertir on the demo library, there is an option called CONDITIONAL AC NPUT CONNECTION.
