Hello,
I'm trying to build easy power charging setup for small boat. I want to have 3 charging sources:
- local charger from AC 230 V to DC 12V
- solar power 50-80W
- alternator from engine
Currently have:
- 2 x 100 Ah AGM batteries
- Mastervolt ChargeMaster 12/25-3 (smart charger from 230V)
- Honda BF8 engine with alternator 12V/12A
I've read that AGM batteries should be charged in special way, therefore it's not allowed to connect alternator output directly. We need some kind of converter DC-DC or dedicated charger, which will stabilize voltage and charge AGM batteries in correct, smart way. Additionally I will need MPPT controller for solar purpose.
Can somebody advice which equipment I need from Victron scope? How it should be connected together? I'm also wondering if maybe will be wise to buy, small additional battery dedicated for engine purpose only (starting). Thanks in advance.
