Quattro 48/8000 stays in absorption with Pylontech US3000

Good day,

I just want to make sure if this is normal or not...

I have set up everything to the dot from the steps here:

https://www.victronenergy.com/live/battery_compatibility:pylontech_phantom

But what I see is after 48 hours with constant AC-in, the Quattro still stays absorption:

I never saw that it went to float, only see it in absorption...

  • Quattro is newest firmware
  • Venus GX is newest firmware

Is this normal?

Thanks!

Hi @Goose

See faq Q7:

https://www.victronenergy.com/live/ess:design-installation-manual#faq

While discharging, and connected to the grid, the state can still show a charge state, such as Bulk, Absorption or Float. Even though it is not charging. This is normal, nothing to worry about.

Thank you for this, but I currently do not have ESS configured, only DVCC for Grid Backup.

Does the same argument apply?

Ah sorry.

The CANbus battery dictates the charge algorithm, so the same applies, it's just charging to the voltage the battery wants it to.
