Is there a minimum amount of power that is drawn from the batteries to “assist” for Multiplus Compact 12/2000? It always seems to be a minimum of about 400 watts or so. For instance, the inverter will actually decrease the incoming amps from shore power significantly lower than the input current setting in order to have a minimum of 400w coming from the batteries.
Power assist works the other way around. It sets a minimum draw from shore power and assists the loads from the battery. If you would like to draw less from your battery you need to set the Shore Power/Grid draw higher, if it is possible. I do not know what application you have the inverter set in or if you have PV.

Do you have ESS loaded? It is possible that ESS is choosing to draw from the battery first.
