Quatro 8000 Charging problems under main failure

My CCGX and Qautro 8000 software was upgraded in Jan 2020. System was installed in Sept 2016 and worked with no problem up to Jan 2020 before software upgrade.

Under Mains failure when Qautro AC input is supplied from SMA 5000TL, the Quatro charging voltage reach 64V DC and it then seems if the system goes into over voltage protection and shuts down. After a minute or so the system starts up and the cycle repeats it self until the mains are restored. This over charging does not happen when AC is supplied from mains. I already lsot one battery due to this over charging and the techs can't assist me!

When you upgrade the software all the assistants would have been erased and you are defaulted back to factory default settings, and these assistants need to be reinstalled.

So I would suspect that this is because of incorrect setup after the firmware update.

Overcharging will occur if you are not signalling the sma5000 to turn off or derate when the batteries are full. this is not the fault of the quattro.

I suspect that you have got no assistants installed or the incorrect ones or they are not setup correctly or the sam5000 is not setup correctly.

as a very basic setup try installing the ess assistant and make sure the frequancy shift setting are set correctly, you should then find that the sma5000 unit will shut down then.

if you dont know how to do this then please seek a professional installer to set the system up for you

I am still having this problem more than a year and lead acid batteries now faulty because of over charging. Spoke to SMA professional today and according to him it is beacause frequency shifting from Quatro does not occur to tell SMA to reduce power.I had Victron techs out twice and seems they can't get things working correctly. I want to Install LiFePO4 batteries but need to get Quatro an SMA working first. Has Victron solved this problem. I notice there are a view complaints on this topic. Who in South Africa Cape Town can please assist me?
