Any experience of this failure ? This is a 1600 x 24v Easy Solar, two years old. Looks like the torroidal transformer has overheated catastrophically. What would cause that ?
The transformer has not overheated. The problem has occurred on the AC board to the lower right of the transformer. Refer to a Victron service partner and they may be able to repair depending on how much burn damage there is.

I agree with Jack. That looks like soot deposited on the transformer from the burnt AC board.
I think you are right, now that I have been able to look more closely. Why would the AC board burn out like that ? The unit should be under warranty, it is less than two years old. It has been returned to Victron.
