MPPT using periodic equalize function to give lithium a higher SOC

Other than increasing the voltage, is there anything about an equalize charge that would negatively impact a lithium battery? I regularly cycle my batteries between 20-80% but I'd like to charge them to 90-95% SOC occasionally and using this feature (and setting a 95% SOC voltage) while not technically equalizing/not damaging the bank would be great.

Theoretically this is possible, provided of course there is enough PV power available and the voltage setting is within limits. You would need to play around with the equalization time, or tail current as a lithium battery at 95% SOC would charge to 100% when kept at the same voltage. I assume you don’t want to go all the way to 100%, and that you are deliberately keeping it between 20 and 80% SOC?
also keep in mind that your battery needs to balance the cells- some lithium balancers only activate above a certain cell or pack voltage. Make sure you know how the balancer works, and that it does activate regularly
