Battery temperature rising and falling very quickly

good day all

i have noticed several occasions where VRM reports high battery temps. At the time, grid is normal, bus is float, battery current is very low although battery voltage and current are a bit odd.

The ambient temperature is around 20c, and connections appear to be all tight. Is this a sign of some problem?

in fact, looking over the past few days, i see spikes to 60deg

we've had some hot days, but change in temp from below 20 to over 60 from 6am to 8.30 am with no load seems impossible (batteries are under the house, so a stable temp pretty much).

It looks like a bad connection, or a faulty probe.

I would check the connections first and if they all look sound, then replace the probe.
