Skylla IP44 - start battery power supply

The IP44 manual states: "The starter battery can draw current from the battery connected to the main battery terminals in case the voltage of the start battery is lower than the voltage main battery." (p.6, par.2.3.)

How does this work in real life? Does it mean that the main battery will maintain the start battery constantly, even when no VAC charging source is connected to the main battery? Or how is it controlled?

Hi @s_v Simbora

there is a diode and a current limiting device to limit power flowing to the starter battery.

So if the main battery has a much higher voltage, it might be wise to not use the connection.
