I have a 230V 15Kva quattro configured for 240v/60hz going to a 100A autotransformer feeding the 50A panel in my Newell. Everthing works as intended on inverter power, ground relay engages at the AT, I get split 120/240 on my bus, everything works fine on solar power/battery. I have a 8KW onan QD 120v that came with the bus, from the previous owner that I was attempting to step up from 120 ->240 w/ an AT, then 240V from the first AT-> Quattro AC input 1 set to generator, which then goes to the second AT to be split back out to hit my panel.
If the panel is connected in this configuration, I get a feedback load of roughly 1-2000W showing up on the AC side and only half the watts are going to charge thr batteries. I can't figure out if this is a configuration issue, if there is a N-G bond in the inverter/Generator I missed? If I kill the circuit going to AT2 that feeds the panel, the full load goes to charging the batteries, but one of the legs is getting hot coming from the generator to AT1. When generator is active, ground relays in inverter and ATs are deactivated.
I'm boondocking most of the time, so I haven't had to connect the shore power to the Quattro yet, but my understanding is that I'm to connect L1 and L2 and drop the neutral, bypass AT1, connect to AC in2 on the Quattro, which will then go to AT2 to be split phase again. Is this going to work as intended? Is the 120v/240V going to pass-through on both legs L1 120, L2 120 to the Autotransformer, loading the neutral going to the panel? I'm currently using a manual transfer switch to bypass the Quattro when on 50A until I understand this correctly, as well as correct what's wrong with trying to run the generator.
