Pylontech Firmware Versions

Hi

According to many sources the Pylontech batteries are very peculiar when it comes to daisy chaining them if the modules have different firmware versions.

Its well known that the master battery has to have the newest firmware, as the battery stack acts like a spoiled brat when the master is not the newest. However what is about the remaining batteries? Can they have their firmware versions mixed? Or do they have to be strictly monotonicallty decreasing?

Basically, would this work?
Master (v1.9) -> 2nd (v1.8) -> 3rd (v1.9) -> 4th (v1.5) -> 5th (v1.7).

And, if I plan to add new modules, which probably have newer firmware versions, its it a good idea to update all (or at least the current master?) to the same newest firmware? Or is it common to rearrange the batteries in the rack to have the newer ones just before the older ones?

Best Regards

This is a Victron forum not Pylontech. You should ask that you local Pylontech seller/distributor or Pylontech directly.

The manual only says the the master should be the newest.

Especially when it comes to updating their FW. Unauthorized by themselves voids their warranty.
