why are my 2 sok batteries detected as pylontech - easysolar 2

Hi, my SOK batteries are auto-detected as Pylontech battery when I look at them in Remote Console?? Does anyone know why this is and if it can be changed to SOK? I have emailed current connected 3 times with no reply. Does this auto detection mean there are settings that come with this that could be incorrect? It is also annoying to buy SOK and them not to show up as such (or are they rebranded Pylontech?)

my firmware is v3.41 - it says it is up to date.

The BMS that SOK have used mimic the Pylontech BMS.

That's a good thing as if implemented properly, the Pace BMS is understood.

Of course it is not a Pace (pylontech) BMS.

okay, yeah, the guy who sold me the battteries says the batteries use a pylontech bms. Hmmm, but why can't the Victron software allow me to change the labelling as it does for most other things?

Definitely not a Pylon BMS, just spoofing one.

The BMS identifies itself, the GX just reports what it sees, it is what unsupported batteries do to work on inverter systems.

It isn't anything that is about to change any time soon, as all supported batteries appear how they should.
