I would like to simply use the 12/200 as a charging solution while driving . I already have the lynx system- lynx smart bms500 , distributor .
Can the lynx bms do all the battery monitoring and the 12/200 just act as a charger while driving , hooking nothing up to the 12/200 bms ports .

I suggest you look at the Orion XS DC to DC charger to go between your engine battery / alternator and your lithium bank. It will limit alternator current, it will work with a Smart alternator, it will be managed via DVCC from the Lynx BMS so charging will be battery managed and shut down before the contactor needs to open
