Smart solar 250/100 or 150/100

Good morning, at least it's still morning where I'm at. I am looking at upgrading my system and have decided on victron as the manufacturer. I really am looking at the 250/100 model with the MC4 connectors and Bluetooth built in, also the ability to daisy chain more controllers.

Looking up and reading about this 250/100 controller has anybody had the problem with the absorption voltage or problem that I'm reading about where it kind of bypasses it that mode for some reason? Or could that be related to that users set up, batteries, etc?

Currently have a 12 volt system with a 40 amp MPPT that works okay. But I want to update pretty much everything and go to a 48 volt system with more input watts from the panels.

I will be testing this controller on my 12 volt system with adding some panels to up the input watts. Just for testing until I purchased the other equipment.

Thanks

@RMiller

The only difference (in function) between the 250/100 and the 150/100 is the panel VOC and string config. Otherwise in terms of efficiency i would use the 250.

I have systems with both and they no appreciable difference in yield anyway. Just i do notice when the ambient is hot higher string voltage helps.

Set up and programming matters.
