SmartShunt reports 100% battery after Inverter resets

I know, dumb to do something like this, but the kettle switch was still on, and I put on the microwave, and the inverter went into safety - a few times - I had my headset on and was listening to music, didn't notice it right away: everything was turning off and back on again, at least 3 or 4 times.

The battery was at about 85% when this happened, but now my SmartShunt reports 100% battery charge instead of the 85%.

Is there something I have to do to correct this, or will it automatically correct when the batteries are charging again?

Morning Matthias,

The inverter is a victron 1600 watt one, can't read what's on the cover, because it's deep behind other stuff in the van, and itdoesn't seem to have a bluetooth interface by itself to see what it is.

I have an SmartShunt HQ2220X4KNG 500A/50mV, a SmartSolar HQ2233XVQJN MPPT 150/70 and an Orion Smart HQ213833PE9 12v/12v-30A Isolate. The batteries are 3 Victrons 200A LifePO4.

The solar panels are 4 Renogies of 200W each. Quite beefy for a van, but I'm working in it and consume a lot of power over the day.

The batteries are now at 93% - 7% is normal consumption overnight.

There's a lot of settings in the SmartShunt, I've screenshot everything and I am including a zip file with all thos files.

Including a dropbox link because uploading to the forum doesn't work for the moment.

I hope this is enough for you to see what should be done.

Found the inverter model: a MultiPlus 12/1600/70-16, firmware 506, product ID 2663, connected through VE.Bus.

The problem appears to have solved itself.

Yesterday, while loading during the day, the SmartShunt reported 100%, but the batteries kept on loading. Until they were really back to 100% and the solar panels and alternator power readings went to zero.

Still a bit weird, and I still have a lot of questions. I read somewhere that the voltage is an indication of the state of the load. Is it set too low? Is the inverter normally remembering the load percentage of the battery and forgetting it when going into safety? Why is that? Is what happened soooo bad for the inverter that this emergency safety is only part of the solution and I did actually - temporary or permanently - damage something? Or is this simply a little bug in the inverter, which seems likely.

In your SmartShunt settings you have a setting towards the bottom of the page "SOC on reset" which is "set to 100%" . This means if the SmartShunt loses power it comes back at 100%. Your system lost power, perhaps the battery BMS turned off for a very short time. Change "SOC on reset" to "use last setting" , I am not sure what the exact text is but it is the recall last setting type of phrase.

I do not think you will have permanently damaged anything, the safety protections worked as designed.

It has solved itself by recharging to 100%.

Battery SOC is hard to determine from voltage on lithium batteries.
