I have a fully updated Cerbo GX that uses Wi-Fi to connect to the internet. That's okay, but the boat's design means it is on the edge of the Wi-Fi range and occasionally outside the range. This is usually not an issue, but it sometimes loses connectivity for extended periods.
Last weekend, I ran an ethernet cable between the Cerbo and the router. But when I forgot the Wi-Fi and connected the two via the cable, the Cerbo said it was acquiring an IP but never got one, and the Cerbo never registered on the router.
I double-checked the physical connection with several other devices, and everything worked as expected.
I tried using a static IP, but that didn't work, so I am at a loss. I have also restarted everything, disabled the Wi-Fi on the Cerbo, then left it on, and released all the IP leases on the router. Nothing changed anything.
As I said, the firmware is fully updated. I am running OpenWRT on the (the great) Seeed Tech's LinkStar router, which is also fully updated.
Other facts:
Two Epoch epoch 300ah batteries in parallel, each connected separately via the BMS-Can ports. VE.Can to NMEA 2000 connection. The multiplexer charger/inverter is connected via the VE.Bus. All unused ports are terminated. The ethernet cable is connected to the ethernet port on the top row.
Nothing else is causing me any agro. Thoughts, anyone?
