MPPT 75/15 load output works in strange ways

The MPPT is connected to my 400W 45 volt solar array. I want to power a 12V pump from the load side terminals. A 12V battery is connected to the BATT terminals The load output won't work regardless of settings on the app unless I also connect the 12V pump directly to the battery. This is inconvenient since I don't want the pump running constantly. Any advice will be appriieciated1

The inrush current of the pump might be to high and is detected as a short circuit.

What power does the pump have?

Thanks for your reply. The pump specs shows it draws 180 watts and about 12-13 Volts DC when connected directly to the 12V battery. I will check amperage and let you know that reading later today.

No need - 180w ÷ 12v is 15A

The inrush to start then would be higher and so above the mppt load port capability.

Maybe use the load port to signal a relay (that connects the fridge to the battery terminals) to disconnect load.

By the way, the solar array is also way to big for this MPPT. You have almost double as much connected then recommended...
