The place I have my battery doesnt have room for the BMV shunt and cables.
I can connect it 1.5 meters away.
Would this be acceptable?

Is your battery cabling is robust enough so as not to introduce a noticeable voltage difference, between the battery terminal voltage and the voltage test point of the BMV you are good.
The current magnitude will be the same, if the shunt is correctly placed anywhere in the negative leg.
