Split phase quattro 10kva power assist generator pulsing

I have a system set up for 120/240v with 2 quattro 10kva. i have a diesel 12kw generator. when the AC loads go above 10000w the power assist is not able to keep the generator at a constant power. the generator pulses and eventually if the ac load is great enough, it will dissconect from the inverter.

settings are:

ups off

weak ac enabled

power assist on ( iv tried 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5, 3, 3.5 boost factor)

input limit 35A ive tried adjusting this all over its range

Im puzzled as to why the power assit will not keep the generator at its input current limit when there is higher loads. If generator is turned off the inverters will power the loads. If anyone has any insight please help!

There is probably a dirty sine wave from the generator. Since the inverters synchronise with the incoming power that will cause a problem. Lower voltage as well = derating.

When inverting it determines the sine wave frequency and voltage. So is probably coping better.

FYI 32A in a parrallel system is actually 64A. Did you try the input as low as 10A? Can it be adjusted that low? Leave the boost factor as standard amd use dynamic current limiter.

Split phase (like 3 phase) doesn't double the current set by the input current limit since each unit draws it's power from different legs.

Parallel does. That is it's the current limit for a single unit so if you have 2 units in parallel, the current drawn from the source is double, for three units in parallel, the current drawn from the source is triple.

Maybe this is caused by battery charging current drawing a spike from the generator.

Dynamic current limit may help since the current drawn from the AC source will ramp up from zero.
